Conical corks – standard sizes

We supply  conical corks in both agglomerated and natural cork – and below are the standard sizes that are available. We do not generally work from stock sizes however, so we can make pretty much any size that you may require (dependent on minimun order requirements – typcially several thousand of the smaller sizes and a minimum of 1000 of the larger sizes). Natural cork is typically only a viable option for the smaller sizes (top diameter of less than 23mm) – this is because the most cost efficient way to make conical corks is to take rejected wine corks (which may have a surface imperfection that has been spotted in quality control) and grind them down to size with grinding stones to give a conical shape.

For conical corks made from natural cork with larger diameters, we have to work from virgin cork, so it is much more expensive. The universal sizing system for conical corks which is detailed below is sometimes known as the ‘RL’ system, but most of our clients prefer to define their specific size – if you are unsure about what size conical cork you should use, then you can always sell us your container and we will test it and make a recommendation for you.
